Frequently Asked Questions
Common Questions
Miami Acquisitions, Inc. is a privately owned acquisition and holding company based in Miami, Florida. We are not a business broker. We never list, market or represent other people's businesses, and we do not charge broker commissions or listing fees. Instead, we acquire companies directly using our own private funds, combined with creative asset financing and third-party investor financing when a deal calls for it. Because we are the buyer, owners deal straight with the people making the decision, which keeps the process simple, private and transparent from the first conversation through closing.
We acquire existing, operating businesses within our buy markets of Florida, Illinois, Texas and California. We do not invest in start-ups. Our target companies generally generate between $1 million and $10 million in annual revenue. Our core buy-and-scale focus is the Home Services sector, meaning residential property maintenance and repair. That includes roofing installation and repair, pool maintenance and repair, HVAC installation and repair, and landscaping services, serving residential and commercial markets. If your company is established, operating and fits within these ranges, we welcome a conversation to see whether it is a good match.
Every deal is custom-structured around the seller's situation and goals. Depending on what makes sense, a transaction may include cash at closing, seller financing, creative asset financing, and short-term or long-term payouts. Structuring a sale this way can help maximize the total sale amount and, in some cases, may minimize taxes compared with taking a single lump-sum gain. Because every owner's circumstances differ, we recommend reviewing the structure with your own accountant or tax advisor. During a consultation, we walk through the options so you understand how each one works before making any decisions.
A traditional business sale often takes about 5 to 8 months, since it typically involves marketing the company, finding a qualified buyer, negotiating, and waiting on third-party lender approvals. When creative or seller financing is part of the deal structure, a closing can often be completed in about 30 days. Timelines still depend on factors such as the condition of financial records, the due diligence process, and how quickly both sides finalize terms. Preparing your documentation ahead of time and planning your exit early can help the process move more smoothly.
Our team is made up of real business owners and entrepreneurs with 20+ years of hands-on experience building, growing and acquiring companies. We understand the time and effort it takes to build a business, so we treat every company, along with its customers, employees and vendors, as if we had built it ourselves. Depending on our buy-and-scale model, we may acquire a company internally or buy and hold it within our acquisitions portfolio. Consultations are by appointment only. Owners can call, text, email or WhatsApp Francisco Duarte to start a confidential conversation about their options.

The average business takes five to eight months to sell on the open market. With seller financing or creative financing as part of the deal structure, we can complete a closing in about 30 days.
With seller financing, part of the price is paid over time instead of all at closing. Surveys show sellers who ask for all cash receive on average about 70% of their asking price, while sellers who accept terms receive about 86%. Payouts over time can also help minimize the taxes of a lump-sum gain.
